Ok I'm looking for a wastegate gasket, what would be best a metal gasket or one of the exhaust styled gaskets? Also does anyone know of any dyno tuners in reno nv

i ordered a chipped p28 from xenocron which should be here soon like in the next couple of days or maybe week. also ordered a downpipe from ebay, i know it probably wont fit but it gives me a starting point so i can figure out what i might need and take it to someone to have it welded since i dont have a welder.i think i might run without a bov for a week or to because im trying to get this finished by the end of this month before my friend moves to texas

Don't run w/ out a bov, it will kill your turbo.
Get it tuned before you drive it or ka-Boom your motor will go
Just go to a local exhaust shop to fab you exhaust, it will be the cheapest!
I'm running a t25 off a sr20 and it starts to boost at 2k! Good luck.

ya i know it will kill it if i run it for a long time but i figured a week would be ok? my problem is, i either have to drive to a shop put everything on and have them fab up a downpipe then take it off to drive home or set it all up completely just leave the turbo disconnected from the intake manifold and drive it that way and then have them fab the downpipe?i ordered an hks ssqv from ebay then ended up getting an email saying i needed to send payment to a different email and i looked at there feedback and they have zero and the account was made in aug 2011 so im just going to order from someone else as i think he is trying to scam me

Yea dont run without the bov, unless you leave the hole open. I would put some kind of filter on it tho.
Then disable the wastegate so it stays open. That way you can drive to the shop, get it welded up and drive back.
Get home and take it all off or dont drive till you finish getting all your parts.

Sucks about the ebay guy some people will try to scam you. And i have an ebay hks bov sitting right here. Switched to a 50mm bov. If you dont find one on ebay let me know and i can sell it to you.

And tell your friend to look me up since hes moving to tx

well this was supposed to be a genuine hks. he emailed back and said this has happened before and bla bla but i just decided to go and buy one from go autoworks hopefully it gets here fast. alright i will let him know, he drives an em1

You can drive it on the basemap just stay out of boost areas so you dont go to lean or have the ignition mess somthing up. Did you get xenocron to make you a basemap.

There should be alittle clip that holds the internal wastegate arm on you can just take that off and it will keep it from spooling like xile said.

If you still havent found the block off plate here's one I dk what size your external wastegate port is though.

thanks i found that a little bit ago.no i have not done a compression check, my engine is pretty health seeing as i got it with 105,000 2 years ago and it has 170,000 now. i had the timing belt and waterpump done at 105,000 and full synth castrol oil every 4,500.

also does anyone know what i need to do with my iat senser in my intake? i figure i need it and was thinking it would probably be blown out of the intake with boost if im using a rubber grommet. what can i do besides jb weld it in

You definitaly need it if your going boost. You can either relocate it to in front of the throttle body or it needs to go into cyclindar 1 on the intake manifold. It depends how its held in. If its in its stock location it should be fine. Maybe use a gasket sealer if your worried about it.

You should have kept that head...It will give you good torque and also be a gas saver.
I got a d15z1 and greddy turbo it and it still giving me 45mpg too bad it blew the piston ring due to high mileage.
