Well firts steps. Installed a defi to control presures/temperatures in one gauge. Shitty installation but fits perfect there. The turbo and manifold arrived. It's a T04E same as in my EK

 

This has been a bit stopped because making the suspension street legal in Spain it's slow af... near 2 months waiting to have the documents ready. In that time Miguel has been colecting more parts. He will run with a P28 with hondata and bosch 550cc injectors and Innovate wideband. He has also purschased some 16" wheels.

After the inspection we took out the OEM manifold and changed for a D16Y8 ported one with a DC2 throttle body.

One day we test fitted the turbo, so we decided to test fit the pipes too and it ended up almost finishing the whole circuit. We took the oil pan and drilled it. We have to change the injectors connectors, change the radiator fan and weld the downpipe to finish.

We were really surprised when we fitted the IC and got in without cutting the grill of the bumper. Now we need to paint it black to make it look way more sleeper.

Make sure you use paint that is heat transfer friendly, and not super thick spray, that aluminum does best naked, I believe.

In Spain its ilegal to modify your car without a permit, once per year we have to go to an inspection and if you have changed coilovers, seats, exhaut, steering wheel... and havent payed to make it legal, your car cant drive until you remove it or pay to be wrote in the cars documentation. Thats not the worse... some parts cant be legalized, so you have to remove then and if police pulls you over and finds something or you have an accident and insurance finds ilegal parts, you can be in big trouble (lose car, expensive ticket...)

if it does happen, ie made for track, it will still have to pass tech at a track, which can sometimes be just as bad

 

Its like a mafia, they call it anti tuning law. You pay for a TÜV certified part (an euro approved legal part) but if you want it to be legal pay, for example, 250€ for coilovers to be legal, 600€ for a engine swap or 1000€ for a big brake swap (because you have to pay 400€ extra just to give an inspector your car, install a g-force and gps unit in the windshield and brake from 30mph to 0 and 50mph to 0).

 

Well this proyect never took the streets... After installing the turbo the engine died on dyno. We made a swap to a D15Z8 and it wasn't starting, so checking the inyectors the car took fire, we put it out but lots of parts were melted. The owner replaced wiring and sensors and sold the car frustated and decided to buy another car
