Nice! Wonder how much he got it for? If I had the room I'd love to own an all original n600.

I can't wait to see how your gonna get the shift linkage to work.

Wtf. That's just wrong. Can't even get a motor.for that price!
The grandson of original owner knowing it will still be a normal streetable car that will be enjoyed, not flipped for profit or hacked up, well it meant something to him.

It has been repainted at some point from original color, no seem rust issues as the car would get stuck in ANY snow.

Fuel tank will need dropped, carb rebuilt, before any attempt to start it is made. It sat without a battery so no issues with acid there.

It will need some TLC/$$$ to bring it back to driving status, but for an expected $3-4K it should make it.

Well It might get a rice option. Since 10" rubber tires (Mini) are hard to fine, upgrading to 13" wheels and 175/50/13 rubber is likely.

What 13x5 wheels would you put on a classic Honda?

Moo! Moo! Moo!

Nice. I can appreciate that. good luck finding any 13’s! the lug pattern on these bad boys are 4x110. Which don’t seem to be to popular. I’m not a big wheel guy so I cant name any brand names off the top of my head…

Pic link is dead.

With this setup will it still be the normal H pattern or backwards, I can't see the front half of the linkage.

Pic seems to be working for me. Same shift pattern as stock. With that bracket, its turning the shifter at the tranny the same direction as it would in the stock front mounted position.

wow.

i wonder if that will work.
also curious for picture of front of linkage.
The guy who took the picture claims that it works.

don't jump on 13" wheels too quickly. 10" mini tyres are dirt cheap in UK and you can get some really nice rubber. That n600 would look awesome stock but really low with some fat 10" tyres

I'm in Australia and get mini tyres freighted from UK and landed on my doorstep cheaper than I can buy them in Australia...

look on Mini Spares - Classic Mini Spares Parts and Accessories (UK) and Mini Cooper Parts and Mini Cooper Accessories! Cooper S and Clubman (USA)

Great build! Where are you located? I'm just under Memphis.

I knew a gent here that has(had) like 6 of them in his back yard.
By 'had' I mean that was a couple years ago. Need to get up there and see if he's still got them, if you needed any parts. (Probably scrapped them when metal was high though..)

I'll keep track and hope you don't mind if I get with you on making the drive wheels solid (not to turn as it would if in front) and not wear out tires due to alignment issues.

You give me motivation on making my '78 1200 trunk model RWD. Or mid-engine.
I've been messing with them for over 25yrs and have several engines to choose from. Even a STOCK Honda City turbo GR engine and tranny.
With kids, job and 'life', I've forgotten lots too!

From what I've read and seen, the shifting linkage that you show there works very well, and will be hoping to replicate on mine. Kind of reminiscent to the 'Ol 914's way of shifting.

Check this build out.. It gives a few good pics of the support and bracketry used for his application.

sub'd...there is one of this sitting in a mechanics yard in my town doing nothing but collecting dust!
pick it up and build it! haha

small update. got the tires mounted and balanced. the guy at the shop pointed out a dent in 1 wheel

hoping that the tire doesnt wobble! contacted the seller. pretty stand up guy, he offered to reimburse me the cost of the wheel. and assured me it did not wobble when the wheel was mounted on his car. we shall see.
