Sounds cool about the S300 protocol, just prepare for Hondata to get butthurt.

I think I'll do a write-up soon on the whole experience from hardware to final video. Turns out DashWare is now free. It's certainly not an easy program, but once you get your templates it's as easy as importing the datalog & video.

I don't have any better videos ATM, so this boring clip will have to do. I used one of their stock RPM gauges, then modded it for IAT & MAP. I also changed some skydiving gauge into a TPS gauge.

Edit: made another video, just a simple drive back from the post office. I just uploaded the vid to PC, opened the existing template in DashWare, imported the vid & datalog (instant), then it took ~3 mins to save the 1080p video. It took much longer to upload to youtube...

Lol, my village apparently has retained it's "small town" look & feel since the 50's.

I wanted to set this up on my dash. I'm going to get a cheap tablet and it has android 4.4 OS. So besides downloading the app, do I just need the moates bluetooth add-on module or do I need anything else?
Yep, there's not much to it. You just need a bluetooth module for your specific EMS (Crome/eCtune, Demon1, Demon2; makers include: Moates, HondaRulez, Injector Nation, HA Motorsports, etc), an android device w/bluetooth, TunerView installed and the in-app purchase of the correct datalog protocol. A camera is optional but not needed on the android device.

One caveat is the android device has to have a wifi or cell connection. It appears to ping the google store each time it is started to check which protocol you own rather than store that info. No internet = no protocol = no datalogging. I know it's for security purposes, but it'd certainly be nice if each time it connects/verifies it could give you a 7-day pass or something. Basically allow you time to be away from a cell/wifi connection.

One way around that is to keep the tablet powered & tunerview open. It will not need to re-check for the protocol until it has closed. Most tablets should be able to sit idle for a day or two, and you can use a normal USB cable & USB car charger on it. My Samsung doesn't get used much and it takes over a week to drain it's battery when idle & wifi active.
