hey i have the manual y8 intake manifold...and i was wondering if you guys could show me a pic of where the hoses from the y7 go...i labeled them all on my y7 manifold but the hoses are in different locations...

im not sure really where they go now

if i need to extend any hoses i bought 5 feet of 1/4'' i.d. hose for coolant/fuel/vapor use

i know that the tiny tiny nipple on the top left goes to the top of the FPR

but then to the right of that there is a larger one

and underneath that there is another large one

and on the backside there is one that is like a 90' bend

and another tiny nipple on the backside...wtf

#4 ·
i think on the backside the tiny tiny nipple might be for cruise control??? i should prolly cap it off

and the 90' bend on the back prolly is the brake booster...so what are the ones on the front

ok everyone hates me ill go cry now lol

where do the purge control and the PCV connect to?

the pcv valve is the lil black thing thats a 90' degree bend...i was trying to figure out where the hell it connected to...

and idk where the purge goes....

also, i know the IACV one is a coolant line and the other is blank? and where does blank connect to? prolly a vaccum source?

and i totally gave you rep

i have this problem before
the back one u can block it off
the lil nipple in front is the fpr
the bottom big nipple is pcv valve

if u are converting to obd1 u have to trow the colant lines to the back of manifold iacv w/e is call

if ur keeping the y7 trottle boddy u need to extend tyhe hoses the nipple from the bottom of the head with is coming from the center of the block goes to the rigth one. the second one goes to the side of the head

now u need to use the y8 spring with the y7 throle body w/e hope htis hleps :D its easy

where does the pcv valve connect to? and thats the black 90' bend thing right?

im keeping obd2

i extended the hose that goes from the middle back of the block to my iacv already.

when you say the second IACV goes to the side of the head, are you talking the crankshaft vent thing?

and i got the TB working :)

and what does the pcv plug into

ok look on that pic, very top of pic on the back of the mani is the iacv- black looks kinda like a camera film canister. the y7 is a three wire iacv while the y8 manual is a two wire. y8 auto is three wire. y7 ecu will not control a three wire iacv. ive heard that if you swap the y7 throttle body onto the y8 mani, you can just plug the y8 iacv or just leave it unhooked(with itself becoming the plug). if you swap the y7 body, just rehook the three wire plug(i think the wires are orange black and blue) back up. then you swap the throttle spring and rotor from the y8 onto the y7 throttle body. and im not sure how yours will work, but in my setup(z6 mani) i had to purchase a y8 throttle cable since the throttle is now setup differently. oh and if you bought a 99-00 y8 mani, it probably has air injection holes, i think they need to be plugged. i know im forgetting something else, but i cant remember it. really just sit and think about it, maybe mock up the lines back on the y7 mani and compare to the y8 mani. you know find out what every line on the y7 is and does and then put it on the y8 mani. i literally put mine almost side by side when i worked on it. came out nicely. lastly, calm down a bit. i can literally picture you banging your head on the keyboard haha. you cant work without a level head and expect things to go smoothly. speaking from personal experience haha.

is #11 the pcv valve? thats shaped like a 90' elbow?

#22 ·

fuck

man im still confused.....ok i looked up what the evap looks like and i got this

Image

if im correct that connect to SQL CIVICS #3 and then the evap goes to a big black canister mounted on my firewall.

but im still lost on sqlcivics #2 I CANT FIND A BLACK BOX on his pic he has a big black box across his fuel rail, and i dont have one. is that the black box? because ive searched and searched but cant find one

and then the iacv...one is coolant, but what is the other

#27 ·
anyone?

#28 ·
#2 connects the hose to the pcv, which connects to a "black box" which is under the manifold and it's called the breather chamber

#29 ·
i dont see a black box!?

#30 ·
its pentagonal shaped @ the back of the block, near the water pipe....

edit: #1 on the parts catalog diagram....

#31 ·
ill report back in a minute, ive been searching and searching

#32 ·
the water pipe runs from the thermo housing right?
