i dont think thats enough to make 150 dude. i mean im looking to get to 90 with a stronger cam and mpfi. i read up on the diff between the si motor and the std 4 speed motor which is the one im referring to and its basically the cam and mpfi isnt it?? and did you say with 2500 i can get from 70 to 150?? lol. i dont think so man.
i meant 150whp so your saying that once i raise my compression on top of those mods i should be around 150 whp?? and that it will cost 2.5k?? also what is the highest output for a d15b1 i cant find it anywhere.
Then factor in ITB's, the manifold for it....then proper rods for $700.....
D15Baby8 was abandoned as costs were getting out of control. The head that was ported for me...and I sold for $400...new owner is VERY happy!
low boost/high compression D16A6 made 197/175 with the torque falling off due to poor flow. My old head as ported by NitroedHX on here....217/175 and torque stayed FLAT. Only thing he change was to add 10% fuel across the board. He didn't get time to fully tune it as he was headed to Lincoln NB for SCCA Solo Nationals.
BTW: a tranny I built is 2010 SCCA ProSolo ST national champion. I got a text....I hate getting texts! "Like butter".....
well that sounds great. i want to spend 4k all together not any more. maybe you were right. should i start with a better motor?? i think i was being stubborn. my brother says that a b16a costs 2k from hmo and its already much more powerful. but i kinda want to do something with a d series. after all that is why im in a d series forum. so what motor can keep up with the b16a besides the d16a7 from new zealand?? once again i want to be creative not really a big swap person but it seems like the d15b1 is over my price range. thanks alot for all your help i really appreciate it.
remember my motor is only putting out around 70 hp. seeing 150 with less than 2.5k sounds unbelievable. my brother who knows much more about hondas than i do insists i get a b16a. im new to honda and am wondering if it is better to get the swap which is putting out 170, modding my d15b1, or getting another d series motor. the h series are terrible for civics because i want a car that will handle well and the motor would make my car too front heavy. k series is too expensive. my budget is 4k.
damn with 2500 u can have a 300whp boosted single cam lol, but everyone likes their car different. imo n/a built d series is waste of money but it can blow some people's mind lol
only thing b16 is better is better head and tranny. but since this is d-series.org lets stay d series. i would at least go d16a6/z6 but since your fully rebuilting it, it dont really matter
Why would you spend that much money to go that slow?
Not to mention it will be super high strung little engine for a DD, when you can get a B16A and a turbo for 4'gs and make 300+whp and be super reliable??

And a k-swap with all the little parts and k-pro is going to cost you more then 4'gs fella, I don't care how much you argue or think your right, after you factor in every little ounce of nuts and bolts and parts its more.......trust me and im talking about a K20A or Z3 not a K20A3.:yes:
idk guys i do want my car to be different. i dont want the same old tired swaps. i like to try new stuff. i used to be into nissan so im in no way interested in turbo. i love honda because of their ability to make high power all motor. if i wanted a turbo motor i would have stuck with my old car. i want a car that can beat up stock gts and 350zs and stuff. my car weighs about 2k so putting 250 to the ground would be very mean. not looking at the cheapest way of gaining hp i want whats best. i guess if getting a d16a6/z6 is best then maybe i should do that.
btw my brother has a k series and its really nice a 06 si 6spd lsd i dont want a k series but i do want something that can beat his k
