I have a 98 Honda Civic Ex coupe - manual - 210,000 miles.

A couple of months ago my car died on me. Two days before it did it started stuttering in low rpm's. It was not constant, in a different gear and varied rpm each time... the night it died I stopped at a drive through and noticed it smoking but by the time I was able to get the hood open smoke was coming from everywhere and I couldnt see a specific area. The smoke though, for a fact was not oil or tranny fluid. It smelled like an odd mixture of nasty water and rubber. Twenty miles later I was in the process of leaving a neighborhood and in third gear at about 3000, it shook ridiculously, stalled, and would not start back up for me.

Over the last few months I have replaced my entire distrubutor, cap, and rotar. Got a new battery. New spark plugs and spark plug wires. I checked the fuel at the rail and all was spewing normally. Checked all of the fuses under my steering wheel and under the hood, all of which were fine... I can not seem to draw a conclusion here. Any ideas?
