C/R stays the same. The only things you get are the following:

1. The right to rock the VTEC wire cover
2. VTEC
3. About 6whp
4. Ladies
5. The ability run Crower cams


Numbers 1 and 4 are the only good reasons. Laydays love the VTEC.

 

Is there a difference in the A1 manifold from the A2 or are they the same?

 

The exhaust or intake manis?

Intake manis are the same. Exhaust manis are different because the A1 has the cat integrated into it.

Just a question to add on to the original.

With the A2 head instead of the A1 are there better gains from basic bolt-ons like intake, exaust?

 

I think the gains would proably be the same. with the vtec head you just start off with a few more hp then the non-vtec head.

 

I would think the gains would be more for the fact now you have cam options instead of a stock or regrind one

 

But does the Vtec allow simple bolt-ons (Intake for an example) to give you more of a gain than with the A1?

 

Wont change much. You'll probably be more fuel efficient when cruising with the A2 head though.

 

i did my swap and i got a bit more then 6. no cool vtec cover either=[. Bolt ons would be the same as the A1 head, just overall you'll have more power because of the extra HP from the head. (ex. you'll get 10hp from a header of a a1 and 10hp from a a2 with the same header JUST AN examle). like everyone said before now you can get crower cams also.
