I was wondering what c/r and how much hp you get when you do the D17A1 block with the D17A2 vtec haed on it?

Is there a difference in the A1 manifold from the A2 or are they the same?

Just a question to add on to the original.

With the A2 head instead of the A1 are there better gains from basic bolt-ons like intake, exaust?

I think the gains would proably be the same. with the vtec head you just start off with a few more hp then the non-vtec head.

I would think the gains would be more for the fact now you have cam options instead of a stock or regrind one

i did my swap and i got a bit more then 6. no cool vtec cover either=[. Bolt ons would be the same as the A1 head, just overall you'll have more power because of the extra HP from the head. (ex. you'll get 10hp from a header of a a1 and 10hp from a a2 with the same header JUST AN examle). like everyone said before now you can get crower cams also.
