Delta cam 272 grind can keep stock springs, is only 152 bucks, and will net nice power

There are things you must look into before you go swapping things out for "performance"

What are your performance goals?
Will this be a daily?
How important is ride quality?
What are your future plans for the car?

With your purpose in mind I would recommend out level 1, it is very easy on the motor and will definitely show you performance gains but it is not aggressive enough for you to need to change multiple components. With this in mind you can still use your stock ecu with this cam. Our level 2 would require you change out your springs and retainers to ensure compatibility and likely you would need to at a minimum chip your ecu.

If you have any other questions or concerns shoot me an email:

U dont have to install stronger springs?...Just if goin over the stock set redline. U can run the cam and keep ur rev limiter right where its at and u wont have any problems.
Just wont get the full potential of the cam.
Im running Exospeed Stage 2 cam on stock springs. Redline for my engine is 7500 and thats my rev limiter.

Do you have to replace the cam gear also with an aftermarket cam gear? Do you know if it will pass california smog emission?

Depends on the cam you get. For a more mild cam or a "stock replacement," I don't believe so. To get anything to run right on a stage 2 or up I believe it is necessary.

I'm not sure about that, but again it'll depend on the cam you get.

Thanks for answering my questions. I was thinking about throwing a bisimoto stage 1 camshaft into my z6 but im not quite sure what I will need in the process. I know its replaces the stock z6 without modifications but will it produce more hp without chipping the ecu and getting a cam gear? And how aggressive will it be compared to stock camshaft with only I/H/E and stock ecu?
