Valve spring installed height

I have a quick question regarding the D16A6 KMS Race valve springs Im running. On the packet it says "55lbs @ 45.40mm / 170lbs @ 11.9mm lift. Is the 45.40mm referring to the installed height for both exhaust and intake?

When I assembled the cylinder head I didnt check the installed height (doh, checked for spring bind and everything else though), and the otherday at about 7400-7500 is felt as if it hit a wall, which Im guessing was valve float. I checked the installed height and exhaust is 46.8mm, intake 42.8mm. Does that mean I need to shim my exhaust valve springs 1.4mm?

I thought it would of been the other way around? Because if the spring was compressed more when installed that would make the spring firmer, wouldnt it? So I would need to shim the exhaust side to bring it down to 45.40mm. Or have I got it backwards? (it is getting late lol)

I have about 1.5-1.6mm of clearance between each coil when the exhaust valve is fully open, so I have enough room to shim it (just).

after the install did you adjust your valves?

this would explain the problem just need a feeler gauge, a flathead, a 10mm wrench and a ratchet on the crankpulley nut to turn the car over.. takes like 30 minutes to an hour

and as for the valve spring "55lbs @ 45.40mm / 170lbs @ 11.9mm lift. that just is informing you how stiff the springs are at that amount of compression on them

Yes, I checked those clearances when I assembled the head. And just recently when I pulled the rocker cover off to measure the valve spring height, everything was within spec.

if you ever run into issues where you have ground the valve seats and faces of the valves so much that you need valve spring shims to raise the spring pressure, forget the shims and get new valve seats installed you probibally need them anyways.
The cylinder head was brand new from Honda complete with valve train, Only thing I changed was valve springs and cam. Cam is slightly bigger than a Bisi Level 2 regrind. Intake 258* @ .040" and .456" lift. Exhaust, 246* @ .040" and .447 lift. But that shouldnt be to big for these springs.
