explosion of parts... its a good thing to have alot of space to keep things from getting lost..

after you drop the firewall in tack weld it every inch or so and beat the next inch with a hammer till it sits flat then tack weld again till you have the whole thing welded..

after its welded in test fit the dash see if u didnt mess anything up lol JK

now buy some 3M window weld from autozone or wherever and seal up all the places u had to take the sealer off.. pretty much every seam u welded .. leaks suck..

now go outside and put the master cylinders in the firewall and bolt them up now your going to have to modify the brake lines cut and flare to make them fit.. its pretty much common sense ..

now paint the bay the color u want ,make it nice

get the RHD subframe and steering rack ready to go back on the CAR bolt her up

cleaning the engine of the JDM dust it had all over it

 

now wiring.. there is no easy way out of this.. USE THE USDM HARNESS!!! if not you will be wiring the rear window controlls and brakes all blind because the harness does not match at all...

flip the harness upside down to make it RHD . All the engine sensors will need to be lengthened about a foot and a half give or take.. also the radiator fan switch will have to go across the radiator support because its coming out on the old driver side now..
the rear hanress just extend it about 24 inches.. run it across the back to the new driverside and up to the fuse box..

and then its just put evertyhitn back where it goes and tucking all the wires back up under the dash .. ZIP ties are your friend i searched alot on HT for answers i had on wiring issues

take a break and contemplate what you got yourself into...

now drop the motor in and bolt it all up just like normal..

put the fenders on and crank her up

then fix the climate controll they u forgot to plug up lol

then go cruise with your buddy

 

then have a BEER

nope.. they were stolen off the clip along with the 1 piece headlights and guage cluster

Looking good. This makes me want to hurry up and finish mine but 55 hr work weeks > me. Is there a particular reason you made the horizontal cut for the bottom of the firewall so far up? I was originally going to do it that way as well but the inner perfectionist got the better of me.

How was it welding it in? I have mine about ready to be welded in but have noticed that some parts of the firewall seem to be slightly out of place from where they should be or is that why you were saying hammer it into place before tacking it. Do you have any pics of the Sol when you have the firewall out of during the test fitting?

 

no pics of that i did all that by myself so i had noone to take pics..

i cut the stock firewall a inch higher than the seam so i could OVERLAP the doner firewall so it had a good nice thick place to weld to.. once u tack it all up its seamless.. yah u have to tack and beat with a hammer to make it flat and stay... just keep inching your way across and it will al finnally fit up together... as long as the dash bolts line up you should be golden

 

Which dash bolts are you refering to? The ones to mount it?
