Installed header. High pitch ring/whistle now

Hey guys I need some help. I know there are so many on here that have used an ebay header and was hoping someone had the same problem.

I just installed an ebay header and now at exactly 1500-1600rpm I get a really loud high pitch ring/whistle sound from under the hood. Is it just some kind of resonate frequency or is something wrong? I checked for exhaust leaks but can't find any. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I had it at first, when I installed. Like a slight whistle could be felt at 2K RPM. I thought maybe the gasket is slightly protruding around the exhaust pipe and whistles when the air flows. But now maybe I have gotten used to it

Yeah that's kinda what I got except it is ridiculously loud and I don't feel it at all, just hear it. I think I will try to grab the header just at start up so it's still cold and see if I can stop the noise just by holding it.

^^^I know what you mean CM but my exhaust after the header will only fit with a donut just because of how the flange is designed.

Hey Pata my donut that came with the header is crap so I think I will go but a proper one and install that and see if that makes a difference.

Hahah hold it? Well, it gets pretty hawwtt in few secs btw ;)

But anyway I don't think you would have to worry much unless it leaks exhaust gases or something. Lol tel your peeps you got a sequential bov :p

it could be a really small exhaust rattle. they can sometimes sound like a leak or high pitched noise. My Del Sol i had did this and i fixed it by installing a flex pipe and buying some better rubber hangers for my exhaust.

But this worked in my case. I dont know what urs sounds like

Posting a video might help

also maybe try switchin gaskets back to the oem one? That's what im runnin right now...I have an ebay header and i gotta say in around the 2k rpm range it starts bangin like I meen you can hear the pinging from the exhaust i think its just the cheap-ass "stainless" they use

OK so I fixed the annoying whistle. I took off the O gasket and slathered it in anti-seize compound. So far so good. I must have had a tiny leak before that made that sound at that rpm. We will see how long the anti-seize works for the problem. Thanks for all the help guys.
