How to set timing on obd2

I have been searching all morning on here, the net, and my haynes manual I can not find an answer. How does one set timing on an obd2 car?

Do I have to jumper box?
And is getting into base timing mode similar to an obd1?

same as obd1. run the car till warm. Then go to the pass side under the dash there is a 2pin harness. Jump it then set the timing at the dizzy with a timing light.
