Hello guys i’m beginning to build my d16z6 after i threw a rod in my stock motor 😂😂. I was watching huntertuned video on him building his d series and he was using max speeding rods stock length rod combined with pg6 pistons. I want to try to run this combo i have a comp cam 53900 and in wondering will i have the valve clearance to run this ? has anyone used this combo before ? and should i not use a block guard like hunter did since the pistons have so little clearance

I did it.
When I was like.. 16.. 10+ years ago. wow.

You looking at my dudes old build?

Clay it

Mechanical cam adjustment was limited to like -6 degrees and +4?..
Ran -2 on the Dyno.

Piston to deck was +0.007 after milling the deck.
0.027 Y8 HG.
Quench, bitch.

You could possibly shorten the rods a bit reboring the big ends,
I'd much rather use stock+ARP rods for an NA build.
Aren't the A6 rods thicker, or something.

You can akshully feel the Forged H beams when revving a D series.

No Fly cutting was needed.

Block guard is a waste of time and money.
Throwing a rod means you didn't take care of the engine to begin with, and ruined it beyond (reasonable) repair.
You are in for a very expensive lesson, if you did not learn.
