hi i have a d15b7 hatch... it has a cold air intake and cat back exhaust. the person that i bought it off of said it has 53,000 miles on the egine. he also said that it has a mild buit head/rebuilt head on it. now, he bought it from his fried so he doesnt know what was done to the head. nothing at all. with out pulling the motor, i was wondering what the best mods for power are. i know i wont get a lot of power... but i want some more for autocross and rallycross. and to stay in a decent budget. ive heard that these are good mods:
~cam gear
~throttle body
~intake manifold
~throttle body spacer
~header
~cams(heard they dont make any after market cams for this engine??)

if anyone has any info to help me, i would like it please. and also, if anyone has a modded d15b7 with dyno sheets... that would be great

thankyou

d16z6 or d16y8 intake swap, or better a skunk2 intake manifold with a big ole throttle body, 68mm or more maybe? header and a nice reground cam. dont bother with the cam gear

I've had a few h22's. They are torqy but its short lived. The hp is alright. Without bolt ons and a tune along with a light car its not even worth it. My bolt on f22 in my civic smokes h22 swapped hatches. I made 182whp/148wtq with 9.5:1 compression.

H22's if your lucky are around 210/160

My boys crx 8.8:1 compression b20/vtec did 163/140 and smoked a 220/182 cx hatch with h22.. I know. I tuned them both on the same dyno
H22 gearing still sucks.

well i'm doing the same thing to my b7 since it only has like 130k on it.
Not looking for a lot of power just a little bit more is all.

exospeed cam $185
bisimoto valve springs $180
jg edlebrock header $127 shipped
used skunk2 cam gear $50
shaved head by .040", 4 angle valve job & very basic port job - $100
y8/z6 hg
blox IM with stock 56mm TB $175
test pipe & 2.60" exhaust
2.5" CAI
lightweight flywheel
.... motor should be about 10.73 cr on pump gas should make at least 125-130whp

not too bad concidering stock d15b7 (no i-h-e) dyno at about 85whp.

I'm at 108whp/106wtq with i/h/e on a mpfi d15b2 with y8 manifold and my tune. My goals are the same as yours. Except I am gunning for a 13.9 or better. I'm a second away from that at 14.8 before my last 2 mods. I can't wait to finish my head along with cam/compression bump. Trying to show those peske v8's a thing or two without the bottle.

well as for the D15B7 ... im planning to mod now and my list is:

D16a6 Cam
Skunk2 Adjustable Cam Gear
D16z6/D16y8 Intake Manifold
60mm Throttle Body (still not really sure what to get here)
Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
NRG Engine Torque Dampener
4-2-1 Headers (still not sure to go OEM or aftermarket)
Pivot Raizin Voltage Stabiliser + Ground Kit
Ebay 'Whale Penis' Intake with DIY ITR cold air ram
Aftermarket fuel rail (still not sure what to do here either)
Honda 'fat five' wheels
Spoon sox
Skunk2 shift Knob
Ebay front n rear strut brace with H brace kit

i think i would be pretty happy with that setup =)

as for the H22 ... what H22 is it? got an engine number? i can offer alot of advice on that as well if you would like

D16a6 Cam
Skunk2 Adjustable Cam Gear
D16z6/D16y8 Intake Manifold
60mm Throttle Body (still not really sure what to get here) might be too big
Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
NRG Engine Torque Dampener spend less and urethane the mounts
4-2-1 Headers (still not sure to go OEM or aftermarket) ugh why would you go oem?
Pivot Raizin Voltage Stabiliser + Ground Kit
Ebay 'Whale Penis' Intake with DIY ITR cold air ram
Aftermarket fuel rail (still not sure what to do here either) waste of money
Honda 'fat five' wheels the lighter the better
Spoon sox should be worth 10-15 horsepower
Skunk2 shift Knob see above
Ebay front n rear strut brace with H brace kit see above

i think i would be pretty happy with that setup =)

For the same money spent, you could be faster. save the adjustable cam gear and the nrg damper, save up for some nice light wheels.

going faster doesn't always mean you need more power.

i agree some of those mods are useless .. but its all in good fun lol

as for the headers ... finding a good set at a good price in australia or landed in australia is near impossible for D series

im gona stick with an OEM TB i think ... still not sure

and i really wish i could afford light wheels lol ... when some pop up im gona jump on them =)
