ok guys bought this car last year from a dealer its a 07 mazda 3 with the 2.0l motor. well ever since we bought the car we had issues with the axle, first it was a torn boot then i noticed the axle had a huge amount of play in it so we brung it back to get it fixed and then we started feeling these bad vibrations and noises during accel and decel
Now i ended up removing the axle to check it out two days ago and the dealer just put a new boot on the original axle and didnt re grease it so the inner tripod joint/bearings were toast.
So i bought a new axle put it in myself today and realized something, even the new axle when its fully seated has a ton of axial and radial play....i can move the inner joint up and down and side to side about an inch each way.
Am i right to thinking the diff bearing inside is shot? i still got a whole bunch of vibration on driving it...what are your thoughts? the car physically drives fine, shifts smooth but im worried about something happening since my fiance/son are DD in it.
