I am planning on building one of the 2 motors, and I would like for you guys to tell me if you think they would work. Also what kind of compression they would have, and the piston to valve clearence.

1- stock d15b7 with ZC pistons, with a y8 head?

2- stock d16y7 with ZC pistons, with a y8 head?

Which one do you think would be better from 4000 rpm to 6800 rpm?
It also has to be all motor Thanks

Sorry fellas you can't use ZC pistons in a B2/B7
I have $1200 in my bank account that sez YOU ARE WRONG.

Lets debate.

FYI PM7 or P29 in a D15B2/B7 will only raise the compression .2 from 9.2 to 9.4......ready to accept my challenge?

Someone correct me pls if I did it wrong but the Zeal calculator reveals that Piston-to-deck height changes as you mill the head & use thinner gaskets?????

The milling field accounts BOTH head shaving and/or block decking.
What if im not touching the deck - just the head & gasket.. the piston to deck height should'nt change right?

i'd like to know the reason why so...

Thread's kinda old. LOL
But yeah it'll work.
Compression's gonna be HIGH though.
With the cam, tuning and all the supporting stuff you'll need for that compression it aint gonna be "a little prep" anymore..
See Builthatch's writeup.
