I have a 1989 Honda crx with a DOHC D16a8 ZC swap. I recently converted the car to OBD1 using a tuned P75 ECU, with a TD43U distrubutor and of course 4 wire O2 sensor. Starts and runs well, the whole nine yards. I'm finding that my car runs hot at a load. I checked ignition timing and found 29-30 of timing at idle. Bypass jump on brown and green wire on timing connector and no change in timing. I tried this with 2 ECU's a stock one and a tuned one, tuned ecu was 29-30 stock was 34. I have checked the timing belt 3 times, balancer is not spun, #1 piston is at TDC and cam marks are at 3 & 9 oclock and lineup with the head. Anyone have any idea why the ignition timing is too high?

Your cam timing is incorrect (post pics of your cam gear placement) or your Dizzy is wrong, which isn't surprising if you are using a cheap one. If it is an OEM dizzy, you cam timing is definitely wrong.
