hi guys new to the forum (actually my account is, been using info off here for a few years) and i have a question regarding swapping a 98 y7 motor into a 1999 ex with a y8. ive been doing some digging all over the forums and ive finially come to a question i havent found an answer to. so my y8 is toast, and i plan on swapping a y7 into it over this coming labor day weekend. i know i can run the y8 mani on the y7, add the knock sensor and ground out the vtec pressure switch, but can i simply unplug the y8 ecu and plug in the y7? also is there any other snags i should be prepared for seeing as i only have three days to get this thing back on the road? any info helps, thanks a million guys

throw the y8 head on the y7 block, wire it up how it was, throw in the ecu. done and done.

The 98 Ecu won't work in the 99 chassis.
