the y8 injector rail sits up a little higher if i remeber right. the y8 is better but the z6 is easier.
this is also often called the poor mans type r manifold for some reason. though im not poor and fuck the type r !
You'll need a new fuel line fitting for the fuel rail. The b7/z6 one doesn't fit quite right on the end of the fuel rail ... unless you ghetto rig it with a washer or two.
Also, the o-rings on your b7 injectors might not be as snug fitting into the y8 fuel rail. If not, take them off the y8 injectors and stick them on yours.
The throttle cable bracket is too far from the throttle wheel thingy. You'll have to move it over one hole to get it to reach. (basically, you'll only have one bolt holding it down)
There are a couple of holes to plug up on the manifold so find something to cap off vacuum holes you don't need.
The manifold bracket on the b7 will interfere with the y8 manifold. You won't be able to get it on there. So you'll have to take off the manifold bracket too. (the bracket underneath that attaches to the block.
I am building a EF I have a D15b2 block with a D16y8 head.
I have the engine together and in the car already.
I ended up using a gates water pump kit with y8 timing belt.
When i went to time the engine it looked ok but I assumed i
could compensate with the dizzy if i had an issue ( I was wrong)...
Hello! I have just purchased a 1999 Honda civic EX 5-speed with 85000 miles. It was previously owned by an elderly couple who garage stored it, and only drove to church, grocery store etc. It's mint condition, 100% stock. I love the car, but it's SO SLOW. No power at all unless I Rev it past...
Need a second opinion here:
I have an 89 CRX Hf that had working AC, not amazing, but it worked. I assume it was R12 as there were no converter nipples going on.
A while back someone hit let head on, broke the radiator and mangled the condenser, but didn't rupture it.
I decided since I was...
ok the b18b1 in my hatch has been acting a little weird.
It has been idling really low and turns of at stops usually.
Sometimes can hear a noise i think its valves ticking but not sure. It's not a deep enough tone to be a knock, I think. Other then that it drives fine. I did a compression test...
