Ok, so I found a great deal on a Y8 shortblock to replace the tired Z6 in my brother's car. My question is, what do we need to complete the swap? Wiring harness, sensors, OBD conversion stuff?? The p28 will run a y8, right?

While the motor is out we are changing all of the seals, timing belt, and water pump. But before we try to put the motor back in, I want to make sure to get anything we need.

Thanks.

from what I understand, all you need is the wiring harness for the motor your putting in. so you get the factory wiring harness plug everything up in the engine, then plug it into the connectors in the engine bay and that's it. the car is wired for obd-1, so you don't need a conversion harness.

edit:
the p28 will work, but you'll probably need to get it chipped due to the timing differences between the z6 and the y8. the p28 will run it, but you might have some difficulty with it running correctly.
