I want go obd1 will I be able to use my obd2 ignition or do I have to use a obd1 dizzy. Also my vtec does not engage all the time, it only limits to where the vtec point should between 5200 & 5500 nd does nothing past that, I was told that my ignition is bad is it true?

let me see here,
you're still running the whole Y8 setup , no OBD1 conversions YET , and your vtec does not engage all the time , and your rev limiter kicks in at 5,+++K rpm , correct?

but i believe that not having a knock sensor would make him have a CEL, this causing the ECU to be running on limp mode,

but idk i could be wrong

Yes, that is correct with a p2p ecu.

Not having a knock sensor could make your P2P go in limp mode.
But as far as i know, limp mode cut off is around 3,500 or so.
5,500 is kinda high for the typical limp cut. Kinda hard to tell unless we can verify maybe from pgmfi.org

Buy a conversion harness for the OBD1 ecu, bridge A4 & D6 for oil pressure signal (look up from phearable.net), you may still use your Y8 dizzy.
