Has anyone upgrades their pistons/rods and changed their compression ratio? Just wondering if anyone would like to share

Soo when I do get around in getting different pistons and rods that decrease the compression ratio and when i change the cam shaft I won't have to worry about claying it then

No need to lower the compression for a straight Y8/Y7 mini-me unless you're adding boost.

Decreasing the C/R by swapping pistons generally means you'll be using pistons with a dish so the likelihood of smacking a valve is low. Now unless you're using some bad ass cam you shouldn't have to clay. But you can always be better safe than sorry.
