Ok, I just obtained a Y8 tranny. It had a cracked case, as it was in an accident. Previously, it had a slight grind in 3rd and 4th.

Also, I have a stock Y7 transmission sitting in the garage. I am currently running on a Z6 transmission, although it has 260k mi on it and the ISB is starting to whine. So, I'd like to rebuild the Y7 using at least the Y8 countershaft/diff. Just wondering what all needs to be done here - I am ok with replacing all bearings and synchros. Will the Y8 countershaft drop right in with the stock Y7 input shaft, or do I have to swap any gears around? I do have access to a press/drivers etc.
