You'll actually have to reuse your Y7 TB on the Y8 manifold because of the integrated 3-wire IACV (your Y7 ecu looks for a 3-wire IACV). You'll need to adjust the retentioning spring on the throttle pulley too.
If you bought a 5speed EX Y8 manifold, you WILL need to find an IACV from a Z6 or Y8 engine to dummy up & block off the IACV holes or else you'll have crazy-high vacuum/idle problems. You can also get those holes welded closed. A dummy IACV is a better option imo.
First, I have a full d16y8 except intake is a z6. It was recently built by me i have only started it maybe 4 times to do heat cycles and to tune the idle it has not been driven.
Parts- stock head, p2p0 rods, vitara pistons, acl race bearings, arp head studs, turbo, skunk2 catback exhaust...
Need a second opinion here:
I have an 89 CRX Hf that had working AC, not amazing, but it worked. I assume it was R12 as there were no converter nipples going on.
A while back someone hit let head on, broke the radiator and mangled the condenser, but didn't rupture it.
I decided since I was...
Hi all, I recently purchased a 99 Coupe Ex and have plans to build it and then turbo it. From the little research I've done my plan is to get someone to bore it, put in forged pistons and rods, and a skunk 2 intake manifold. What horsepower should I get out of this engine with a 50 trim turbo...
I am building a EF I have a D15b2 block with a D16y8 head.
I have the engine together and in the car already.
I ended up using a gates water pump kit with y8 timing belt.
When i went to time the engine it looked ok but I assumed i
could compensate with the dizzy if i had an issue ( I was wrong)...
