is there any real gain from wrapping the headers in ceramic wraps??????

it keeps more hot air coming from your header out of the enigine bay. So it might keep shit a little a little cooler, but no i dont believe it gives you any noteworthy performance gains.

i wrapped mine....it does help keep the heat in but i guess its all personal preference

The header will indeed run much hotter, and in the case of a mild steel unit it will be much more susceptible to cracking.

But on the up side it also keeps under the hood temperatures down.
When I get my new header it’s going to get jet-hot coated :TU:

I ran a jet hot coated header on my bike back in the day. They def do good work:TU:

I've got 2 thermometers in my engine bay. In my coolchamber and near the header. Had my header wrapped in, and after some time, i sold that header and replaced it with a not-wrapped one. Was a difference of 10°C

check transzex's thread, the only parts of his header that rusted were where it was NOT wrapped.
i find it hard to believe that the 1500* that exhaust gets would allow much moisture to stick around :p
Some use the wrap to hide some unsightly welds! LOL

damm ryan it looks like they fucked u over on that one, but i was just asking cus ive seen serveral people do that and im always like WTF is the point????
