I just picked up an engine stand from a friend, but Im not sure what bolts to use to mount my y8 block to it? Im assuming I use the 12x1.25mm tranny bolts, but they dont look long enough in the Helms pics....

Take a tranny bolt and go to the local hardwear store and get about 1" longer ones. I had to do the same thing! They aren't long enough!

I had to get the longest bolts I could find, then cut my engine stand mounts about a 1/2 an inch to make them work right

I had the same problem with mounting a D16z6 engine to a stand. After running around town I gave up on looking for longer bolts - the thread pitch is tight so it`s not a very common bolt.
I just took a hacksaw and shortened the stand`s mounting holes about 2.5 inches. Kinda ghetto but worked good.
