I think I saw those at hondaautomotiveparts.com
They were around $40/ea IIRC, but needs separate rings that cost the same as piston (atleast OEM). I think they also were thinner late-model 1.0-1.2-2.8mm ones, so Y8 rings should fit? Or aftermarket ones like from JE.
Old(-'95) rings are 1.2-1.5-2.8mm. Bought JE ProSeal rings for my PM7 pistons, didn't fit
No one makes aftermarket which is why they're expensive....as pretty much all new OEM parts are.
You can try getting just the pistons and get aftermarket Y8 rings if possible. The price of the "piston set" includes the wrist pin; so figure something like $180 just for the pistons and wrist pins, then $55 for (Hastings)rings and then shipping.
So my motor is built and already in the car with the turbo kit installed my question is can I install the cam without degreeing it and have my tuner advance or retard accordingly? Yes I did search but didn't find a clear answer
I have a 1990 crx si with the original d16a6. I wont to build the original motor. The head has had a value job and has been shaved. Machine shop has stated that the block needs to be bored out at least .10000. What is the best bore to go with being I have to bore it? And what pistons and rods...
Am building a 96 civic coupe to run on dirt track. Have a couple of engines i can build but don't know what to build? Have a d16y7, d16y5, and some parts for a d16y8. Looking for opinions on building a engine for this civic that would help with mid range power? Rules says "stock" but was looking...
Yesterday I talked to Geoff from colt cams and he mentioned that there are actually two d16a6 cams. He said the only way to identify which core I have would be to install it in my engine and check the timing.
Is this true? I’ve never heard of two different a6 cams.
