Recently my radio starting cutting out the highs and mids and just playing the lows/bass through my subs only. I was just wondering what might be causing this? Obviously the subs are run by the rca wires and arent connected to the rest of the speakers so... could it just be that the wires have come loose from the back of the head unit - connecting to the factory speaker harness, or does it sound like my unit (which is less than 1 year old) is crapping out on me?? its a pioneer, and i was always under the impression that pioneer units were pretty good....

if you have a shorted speaker lead, the internal amplifier in the radio will shut off to protect the radio. pull out the deck, and check for continuity to ground on any of the speaker leads.

check your ground on the radio...maybe even take it off the factory harness and put it on the chasis somewhere and i would check the speaker connections too
