for a nasty all motor y7? and where's a good place to get it? i can't get anything too crazy cuz i have stock valvetrain.
yes.........is there a website for delta cams?
Hmm, that's not bad. I might just have to look into that for my boosted HF project until I finish my H23.deltacam.com
just sent my y7 cam in for a 272 on friday
$93 + shipping.
of course, my y7 will be boosted.
I might be wrong but are you thinking a A6 cam will go into the Y7??so nobody knows of one? lol... or any aftermarket Cam for an a6 will work as long as i run an adjustable cam gear. so in other words? does anybody know where i can get a good cam for a d16a6 or d16y7?
from what i was told it will work as long as you run an adjustable cam gear.I might be wrong but are you thinking a A6 cam will go into the Y7??
You can rev 8000 with 272, but no power up 6800rpm. I run one while 2 years with cam gear and I didn't find any power past 7000rpm with 2 degrees retard, but much power lost in lower band. This cam is a mild cam for street use or low boost setup. It's like stock sohc vtec always engage, lift around .357 really not much for hard pushing but power is slightly increased and noticeable VS stock y7 cam.i would have it regrinded... by Delta, the 282 is the biggest u can run on the stock vavletrain and the 282 will pull you to 7.8K easy... the 272 will pull you to 7.2K for sure..
y7 isn't vtec.i like the Zex cam great for the money dyno proven 12 hp gain
yeah i know =)hey hollister, just to let you know. no buying or selling on here until you have reached 65 posts and been accepted into our family =)
in regards to your post, as joe said the head will have to be worked on, ported, polished 3 angle valve job and why not upgrade your valvetrain, its kinda cheap insurance if your gonna be revving high on a bigger cam. higher revs = more power on n/a d's and they gotta be able to breathe first off but able to withstand the rpms to get it to breathe, i'd say get your head work, new valve train and a big ol cam like ya want. then you should see power all the way up to the cams design. or atleast your set ups
