I currently have 2 honda engines. the first is a stock Zc vtec and the second is a sohc zc non vtec that is also stock. which block is stronger or worth building up. i want it to handle 250hp at the wheels. ill be using a td05 dsm turbo and building one or the other blocks with oem bearing, tt rods, and vitaras. should i put the vtec head on the non vtec block and build it, or just build up the zc vtec??

Well there at minor things. Some people think you need to boost non-vtec motors cause when the vtec changes you lose boost. Most of the non-vtec motors have lower comp too whihc make then good for boosting. Personally I think the zc vtec would be a little beast turboed. A buddy of mine had one that was n/a and he put down more torque than hp haha.

the blocks are going to have the same limitations. the rods are the same in each, the compression ratio are pretty close to the same, so in stock form they are of equal strength.

z6 with Vitaras will yield a better compression ratio than the non vtec zc. id run the ZC now and build the z6

i say run the ZC vtec. either way, both of them have the same limitations. and i dont think 250whp is capable with a td05. if it is, you'll be pushing it pretty hard. i would go with a .48 .60 for those power levels

i was told by a guy who rebuilds dsm turbos that a 14b can put out 20psi with a boost controler so how come that turbo couldn't make 250hp on my build?
