What Turbo for the D16Y7 ? ? ?


Stock D16Y7 103,xxx miles
with 92 CX tranny [long gears]
with Z6 manifold
port and match throttle body
port and match intake + head
port and polished exhaust header
stage 1 exedy clutch

should i go t25 ? tdo5h ? T3 ?

which is the best ?

depends on your goals. but t3 would be your best bet out of those choices.

alot of people thinkg a long geared tranny will help for turbocharged engines

because my 96 cx tranny messed up....I have the 92 CX tranny laying around so i swap that for now.... but what tranny would be the best for my setup ????..... Si TRANNY?....Y8 TRANNY???

14b turbo would be another option. big but not too big. Shorter the gear the better. The cx gearing just kills you. think about it. If the transmission is built to save on gas, why would it help in making you go faster? Answer, it wouldn't. Gearing is key. and Si tranny would do the job!

I have a GT28R w/AC compatable turn down, Greddy Manifold, and DSM side mount for sale if your interested. The setup has only 1.5k on it, basically brand new. It spools up very fast even with the CX gearing and will push 18+psi. Let me know if your interested.

go t3 for sure....and DO NOT go dx or cx tranny.....it will be a waste of time to swap out the tranny.....find a ex/si tranny from an eg or a y8 tranny....the only tranny to go with
