I'm starting my A6 build project, and I have no idea what size transmission bolts to use to mount it to my stand. Please be explicit, the only answer I got before was 12 x 1.25, but that didn't tell me if it was metric, or what type of threading I needed, or anything. After I can get the damn thing on the stand I can drain the oil, and start getting to work. If it's in the search somewhere and I couldn't find it, sorry, I tried, I also searched through my Hanes manual, and went to Autozone. Also, I know some people have talked about cutting their engine stands and things, I want to avoid that.

Thanks everyone.

Help me get my build started.

Peace.

12x 1.25 are metric bolts.... And it all depends of how thick the mounting plate and tubes are on your engine stand.. Get a measuring tape with mm on it and measure the thickness off your stand and add another 20mm and voila you have you engine stand bolts...
