Hey I'm just wonderin where I can find a site that sells Y8's. My mom's 97 EX spun a bearing so i'm trying to find a long block that I can just drop straight in. IIRC, isn't there a D16A thats the same thing? Anyway, also, is there a D15B thats obd2 that would run on the stock EX ecu? I've checked around and hmotors and one or 2 more and I can't find one except that Tiger Japanese had a obd2 d15B vtec. Thanks guys.

junk yard is the only place I know of to by a y8, plus you are correct jdm d15b is the direct replacement for the y8.

i bought an OBDII ZC motor which is a non-vtec D16A and swapped my Y8 head on it. A little higher compression but still good for 87 and it pulls good. Its faster than a 5spd y8 and i got an auto. only thing is you gotta switch all the stuf pretty mcuh from the Y8 cuz the JDM plugs are different

I know hmotors is good but they have no obd2 d series engines. I haven't heard anything bad abour tiger japanese.

thats just one of the many i have seen...but i mean
maybe they just had bad luck.

now if you want to stay obd2 and run a obd1 block
you have to use a obd2 oil pump...then you just use your stock head
...that or fix your spun bearing.

if not you might have to take a drive and try and find
a obd2 short block......;)
