ACL only makes race bearings now. They no longer make Duraglides. That's why I went with Clevite for my next build.

ACL's are a hard type bearing. Meaning that if any trash goes thru your oil it scars the bearing and the opposing surface (crank)! OEM, Clevite, and King Bearings are an imbedded type. Meaning that they will let the trash get soaked up in the material of the bearing and keep it away from your crank, and it keeps it from traveling thru the rest of your oiling system and back thru again. Like said from others, if your clearances are not right then there will be damage no matter what the bearing is.

ACL, King, Clevite, OEM...all good brands to go with. If you can get away with using non-OEM bearings, then by all means go for it. If your clearances don't check out, then get some custom color OEMs.
