hello,
I own 00 automatic (for now///In the the AM and after work (cold starts) when I go into D or R or whatever the car moves by itself without throttle...I know its suppose to creep..but not move so fast it can shift into 2nd..??? hahah I was thinking throttle cable adjust? TB open? when it warms up everything seems ok...until it warms up if i go into R or D vehicle literally can reach 25 without accelerator..first thought is throttle cable (I an guilty of messing with it) but then warmed up/driven it stops. and all i good? any ideas?

cold starts always have a higher idle than when warmed up.

If I were to be stupid enough to put my car into drive immediately after starting during a very cold night, it would probably go into 3rd gear.

Rule of thumb, below 40*F, let it idle at least 30-60 seconds.

If under 20*F, let it idle a good 2 minutes to allow oil pressure to stabilize, and flow to be good

High idle in Mom's 72 Buick was good for 60 mph until you kicked it off.
