I picked up my new(used) sohc ZC, now I have been working on hondas for a while, but I have never seen anything like this. On the cylinder head intake side nearest the distributor there is a metal cover that looks like something to block off an egr....but it goes straight into the valve train area like it is a hole for a sensor or something. Does anyone have an Idea what this hole is for?

fuel pump block off cover.

Carbed NON-VTEC D's mounted the fuel pump there and it was driven off a cam lobe.

Just like old V8's.

a few other heads have the same. like the d15b non vtec. the cam has a lobe which pumps the fuel pump and feeds the carbs. old skool technology but works like a charm. :)
