So this 95 Civic EX I got has been a smooth daily driver but one weird things is when Im accel on to the freeway in 1st gear or any gear , I romp on it and the speedo works properly but the tach starts to slow down around 4k and up.
In fact ... I have romped on it hard and can never get ANYWHERE near redline .
Audible sounds of the motor are proper but tach goes all limp.
LOL
Clogged Cat ?
Bad dizzy ?

Theres a wire thats loose or cracked sending incorrect voltage either from the dizzy or the wiring harness or the circuit board

No miss... complete tune up done by yours truly .
Did it before the tune up as well.
I suspect its in the dizzy .

So are you sure you are actually reving past 4k on the motor? Just the cluster isn't responding?

I bet a new dizzy would fix it.

Runs great ! and yes , Revs seem to go past 4k but tach slows down emmensley after 4K .
I can get it to about 30-40mph in 1st , wouldnt go any higher without sustaining damage , and tach just falls short.

after a really heavy rain my cluster acts really weird until it dries out.. there's a leak from the front driver corner where the firewall meets the front driver rail; there's a bunch of seam sealer there; the metal all around it is bubbled and such.. water most likely gets in, temporarily shorts shit out..
could be something worth looking into.
