I do not think the vtec solenoid on my d16y8 is working. If the car is idling and i jump 12+ to the solenoid could i hear the difference in cam lope with my head under the hood?

What size is ur turbo?

I don't think the oil pressure at idle is going to be high enough to lock the rockers.

Have you confirmed the solenoid clicks with the engine off if you apply 12v?

With the engine running you could try holding the engine speed around 3k and engage the solenoid.

T3/t4 57 trim .60 cold side .63 hot side.

i swapped from a y7 head to a y8 head and did the cam at the same time. Holding 60psi hot oil pressure. I start hitting a brick wall between 4,800-5,000 rpm.

and i think i still have my cam too far advanced. ...so I'm working on a few problems at the same time.

boost starts to build around 3,000 rpms but falls flat at about 10 psi and doesn't climb any higher.

I'm using an AEM fic6 with vtec switch. I am getting power from the AEM switch.

I didn't try to jump and listen to it with the engine off. I'll try that

No codes that i know of. I have no check engine light or com port hooked up. Just computer, engine harness and 5 wires from the harness connecting the harness to the car (98 Ford escort).

It ran good before with a y7 head, but haven't got it running "right" with the new setup yet.

Jumped 12 v to it and it didn't do anything. .. hit 12 v to it a second time and it clicked. I plugged it back in and it seems to be working now. Maybe the connector had some dirt or corrosion in it?
