Hi all,

Im a newbie on here so go easy on me :D

I recently bought a import honda crx del sol and noticed that its not as fast as it should be....after looking under the hood i noticed i had a D15B engine and looked on the net to find out a bit more about it.

After looking i found the the reason for the car not being that fast is because it may have a vtec-e economy engine instead of the 130bhp D15B vtec engine.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the visual difference between the two so i can know for sure??

Thanks :D

if you can take the valve cover off and take a pic i'll be able to tell you in a heart beat if it's a vtec-e or not. btw they don't have 2 vtec solinoids. and my vx head says p07. here's a pic of a vx head notice the LMA's are recessed and notice the cam gear. also the middle rocker arm for the 3rd lobe is differnt as well.

yeah it is 12v to 16v but it has one lobe that barly opens the other valves so that fuel doesn't puddle. i'm not sure if the 3rd lobe is there but there is a 3rd rocker arm and it's different.
