Hello,

Looking at the throttle body of a D16Z5, I noticed there is a little pipe (highlighted in the attached photo) missing a hose. When revving the engine the pipe emits hissing sounds. My question is what should that little pipe be connected to?

where is your map sensor?

also 99% of cars in the world have vacuum diagrams underhood.

that is considering IF painting wasnt done, or someone overdoing cleaning, or similar.

plug it for now. but it seems one of your solenoids is blocked offf with a bolt in a short hose right there on the firewall

MAP sensor is the one slightly to the left of the middle on the top of the photo. This is a Civic 4gen with D16Z5 BTW. The original engine was D13B1, if that helps.

well in that case
that vac barb is probably for emissions. likely a carb canister or vent box

plug it up. I generally use a small piece of hose with a sparkplug or a bolt in it, until I buy a pack of vacuum nipples

^ yes it does, plugs into one of the connections on the canister, not the one going to the purge solenoid cut off valve, or the two way, the other one.

Like so....

You're welcome OP, apparently Google only works in certain places any more, lol

Looks like he's got a fuel filter where the charcoal canister would be. Maybe OP should provide some specific details if he expects help but how could I expect that of him when he can't even search for a vacuum diagram.

slo_eg8, I can't access the car at the moment to have a look or take a photo, but I don't remember seeing any canister behind the intake tube. Just the fuel filter which is visible.

Attaching a vacuum diagram for a CRX from which this engine was taken from.

engine doesn't matter, what matters is what chassis youre throwing it into

I did say it could go to a canister above lol.

op, it will be under fuel filter if previous owner kept it.

slightly off to side, but firewall mounted, all the same
