Dude, my piece of junk d15b2 with bolt-ons is way different than any kind of real racing motor. My automatic even limits me to 6500 shift points. There is quite a bit of difference between a 9000 d16 and my junk. I wouldn't doubt my piston speed is easily 1500-2000 ft/min slower.

I don't think using a chopped-up drilled-out lightened pulley will weaken it to the point that something will break other than possible damage to the crank due to pre-mature bearing wear as a result of eliminating the dampening effects of a pulley wilh greater mass. The pulley on my 2.6l mitsubishi engine has spokes and looks like a P/S pulley on steroids.

i am pretty sure most honda motors are internally balanced so the crank pulley is neutrally balanced. i understand the logic from both sides of the argument. i bought the unorhodox underdrive set for my prelude and also deleted my balance shafts and i had no problems. i drove the car for 20k miles and sold it still running fine. if i had the opportunity to do it again, i will.

Harmonics dont care about horsepower, I have seen little wimpy motors shakes themselves apart and big fast motors live forever. But what do I know? You can choose to put whatever pulley you want on the car, but until you have torn down motors and see the damage, or seen stock pulleys sheer apart becuase of out of balance motors then maybe you will understand.

Too many people by Egay clutches/flywheels/pulleys from companies who do not balance their parts.

Its your car and you can bolt what ever you want to, just dont blame the machine shop or the junkyard where you got your motor if it has bearing issues.

all i am saying is i didnt have any problems. i am sure when i do, i will quite using them.

Im running AEMs pulley kit...Alt/PS with no problems at all.....I would be afraid to run a crank pulley from what i hear.

I don't care that you don't care about your motor.

This topic has been covered ....answered...and brought back to life one to many times.
