i was wondering who on DSO is running a 2.5" or smaller exhaust on your boosted engines. im curious to see the usual output with 2.5" or smaller exhaust on a small turbo d16

Oh yeah and the exhaust was a clusterfuck kinda. 3" downpipe, 2.5" from downpipe to axle, 2.25" axleback.

I made 230whp on a stock D16Y8 w/ .63 eGay set up on 11 psi with a 2.25" down pipe and a 2.25" exhaust.

Tuner said exhaust wasnt choking it.

On a stock bottom end build? ~200 hp?

At low power I doubt you would see any noticeable power gain between 2.5 and 3" exhaust, although they would be an improvement of spool.

At 300+ hp it would be a waste not to run 3" exhaust (maybe keep the DP 2.5" if youre keeping AC)

Pretty much. On a stock build keep it smaller, keep it quieter. On a built engine shooting for numbers go 3".

i have a 60mm Apexi N1,cat converter with a gt2860r and made 330hp at 22psi...the exhaust setup is probably killing it...thinking to go up to a straight 3" exhaust system but still dont have the money!!!

Nice. with stock clutch?
Yes on stock clutch. Exedy OEM spec with about 15k.
No, stock clutch is piss weak. It's only good for about 140 ft lbs.
It held the 190wtq+ I threw at it just fine for about 9 months and it chirped 3rd.

Not completely disagreeing with you though, I couldve chirped 4th if I had a stiffer clutch.
