I was driving along, slowed down for a speed bump, accelerated, tried to shift in second, it wouldnt go in, when i finally got it in second i herd a bang.

what could this be? when i push the car i hear a clunking sound
do i definetly need a new transmission or is it possible to fix it without spending more money than another tranny.

It could be a lot of things. You won't know the extent of the damage until you take it apart...if it is your transmission. It could've just been a stretched clutch cable that cause the problem in the first place. The lesson to be learned by this is never ever force the car into gear. If it doesn't want to go into gear, that's something that needs to be addressed right away.
