anyone know the major difference between honda manual tranmission fluid and putting sae10w30 does the regular 10w30 oil reduce tranmission life?

it did in my case... i used castrol syntec and my bearings went bad.

honda service manuals recommended the use of 10w30 motor oil....... then they switched to honda MTF... they switched for a reason, so im sticking with the honda mtf. :TU:

yeah, i first thought it was ok because the stupid Haynes manual from pepboys said 10w30. But there was a service bulletin that said only MTF so there must be a reason :)

i got the honda MTF, installed the 2000 SI transmission and clutch assembly, with VX flywheel the car is now pulling way better then it ever has. I love d-series!!!!
