CX hatch, Z6 swap with A6 pistons. Still runs on a CX tranny.

Now, I used my P28 on it (was using P06) to get maximum performace on engine. At rev limit this thing was doing 45+ in first and 95+ in second gear. Since it has 2X the power of the original motor, it can get through those loooong gears more quickly. And it's at 90 MPH before you know it.

The hatch NEEDS the Si hatch tranny and Exedy clutch from the coupe, since the main shaft bearing is gone on the CX trans, and the clutch is a ghost too.

Those 1-2 gears are good a hell for racing IMO. Would it be a good idea to use the CX 1-2 set in the Si tranny?

CX/DX/VX 1-2 are all the same.

Run a stock Z6 box or a close ratio box.

The ONLY reason you'd want the 1.761 second gear if you do all your racing from a 50-60 roll.

I guess it'll get the Z6 tranny from the coupe, with all stock gears.

Yes do it. Those long gear rumors around the net (especialy H-T) are hooplah I tell ya! You may read on various forums that long gears are better for boost. Well my opinion, running boost and switching from a CX trans to an SI is night and day. Yes the gear changes come up on you very fast but the overall acceleration is so much better.
