i posted a couple days ago about the problems starting the JDM D15B...we think we've narrowed it down to something with the fuel system...after cranking the engine a couple times, we checked the spark plugs, and they are dripping with fuel...something is telling the ecu to spray a ridiculous amount of fuel...does anyone know if this could account for the engine not turning over? if so, what would be causing the overdose of gas?? any suggestions would help...

my buddy has a snap-on diagnostic computer that were gonna hook up tonite...if thats the problem will it show up?

also, the engine was running like gold a week and a bit ago...why/how would the injectors get stuck open? (if thats what it is)

Also check your intake air temp sensor. It'll do the same thing, just to a lesser degree. Find the resistance values in your repair manual and measure both units. I would almost bet that it is the coolant temp sensor.

see...the thing is we broke the intake air temp sensor...but my mechanic said it doesnt matter...the resistance across it should be between 1000 and 4000 Ohms...so we strapped a 2.2k resistor across it and it didnt make any difference...ill have to check the coolant temp sensor tonite or tomorrow....thanks a lot bro

well...it turns out that on the jdm wiring harness that came with the engine, some of the pin locations in the plugs arent the same as canadian/usdm harnesses...so we swapped in my harness from the old engine...then, we noticed that part of the iacv was bent, and air was being sucked in and bypassing it, causing the car to idle at around 3000 rpm...so we swapped in a different one...as soon as we did that, the car started to idle at aroun 3-400 rpm and it was knocking...there was no throttle response whatsoever...you could be at w.o.t. and never know...so throttle bodies weere exchanged...ignition timing set.....crank/cam timing set over and over....i was at the point where i felt completely helpless lol...i didnt know what to do...my mechanic suggested that maybe there were high compression pistons in it....until a compression test yeilded a dismal range of 130-140 psi...

last nite we finally figured out what it was...the key that holds the cam sproket to the camshaft was snapped...continuously altering the cam timing...(not in a good way like i-VTEC tho lol)....so that is being replaced as we speak (or as i type) and hopefully the car will be running like it should...the valvetrain appears to be ok, albeit a little dirty...so im prayin that i can drive the car home today!!

thanks for all your guys help!
