Ok I have done as many searches on this as possible and have not found my answer. And worst of all I have to give up my secrets but I really need to know
Currently I'm running d16z6 in my 89 STD w. 2.25" pipping no headers or intake and it just not any fun anymore. (Don't want to go B series so dont suggest it)
I have been looking into two new toys for myself. One being HonData s300 setup and the other being a d16a8 (Euro Spec ZC w/ 10 more horses then the ZC :Fact: )
HonData cant be used in JDM ECU because of the shape of them so I have heard so I wil have to use a 88-91 teg Spec ECU for the a8.
Now my question is. Will this all be worth it in the end. Who has a a8 and has actual seen more response with the engine then a z6? Who has a HonData setup on the a8 or even ZC what numbers do you have?
vtec isnt all the great when you dont have torque ::Fact::
So I'm wondering should i proceed or just HonData my z6??

I need answers fast

Personally I would run Vtec motor there is way more aftermarket support out there for them comparing to what you want to drop in. Plus you can get them everywhere :)

uh. can you site your sources on this "fact"? the only differance between the euro zc and the jdm zc is the valve cover and the engine stamp and the fact that the euro zc came in a rover..... Maybe I'm wrong and someone can prove me wrong....
But I dought it....

i say keep the z6
hondatat 2300 is way overkill for bolt ons man
take the money you was going to use for that and get a cam or something, then get your ecu chipped
dont understand the reasoning behind selling your engine thats modded for a stock engine that has 10 more hp. it wouldnt be any more fun than what you have right now.
and what do you mean by no headers or intake? that your running stock pieces? if so take the money and buy that

If I'm not mistaken the difference between the d16a8 and d16a9 is because one comes stock with no cat. I've personally whooped ass on z6 and y8 with my d16a1. Soon to be turbo as she went in the gargage this week for reconstruction:twisted:

I took on 2 y8 coupes at the same time and had them both by at least four car lengths.

1989 Acura Integra LS
D16A1 w/ 5-spd conversion
3" Custom CAI
JDM ZC headers & cams
no cat & 3" exhaust

hi

i wroted about d16a9 (140 hp) and b16a, a1 (161). i have some test with good graphs of boths engines so i can do this comparation. d16a8 is, as d16z5, are simply kat versions of JDM ZC. honda increase compresion ratio in this models (from 9.1:1 to 9.5:1) ..........you must also think in weight. the first crx 2º generation are about 875 kg and the last versions of vt about 1000. this is the fact because this cars have similar times. im still prefer the torque of d16

regards
