So after getting everything installed and torqued down to specs I came to notice the ARP rod bolt really close to the main cap/girdle.

It does clear, but once the motor is running at 6-7k rpms I'd be a little worried.

Is this ok or should I notch?

And for funsies the build Im doing (which will have a 'showcase' made once closer to done. D15B w/ FJT custom Ibeams+vitaras)

Arrows facing the flywheel! :bigok:

if it doesnt touch dont worry about it.

if your rods end up getting 1mm of play in them at 7000rpm you got bigger problems! :)

i didnt notch the gurdle with my FJT i beams. :)

if u wanted to be slick u could sharpen the edge of the girdle so it acts like a knife when the rods swing past it, and removes extra oil :)

lighter rotating assembly, even if just a little

I didnt notch my main cap when I installed my Eagles. Ran just fine for 35K miles and many trips to 7500rpms.

I notched mine for piece of mind at 8500rpm...or more. :) I also notched the cylinders and then got the bored afterwards.
